This article describes the case of dentist Homer Tourkakis, whose property was seized by the city of Arnold, Missouri, to give away to a private developer. In that case, the court expanded the reach of the state's Tax Increment Financing Act, for the first time giving every local government in the state, no matter how small, the power to condemn your home or business and give it to whatever developer the bureaucrats believe will use it in a more tax-producing way.
